Observation & Assessment

Your child will have a Communication Book, which will record their daily activities including meals, nappy changes and activities. Please feel free to share information from home, in your child’s Communication Book. You will also complete an ‘All About Me’ sheet to share your child’s home routine.

We have an annual Parent’s Evening in April. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum guidance for tracking development. A one year progress summary will be sent out to discuss milestones your child has achieved. We work alongside Health Visitors to ensure all children are achieving their milestones.

When your child is approaching 2 years, they will begin to integrate with Playgroup. Scheduled visits will initially be supported by the Under 2’s staff as they begin to get to know their new Key Person for Playgroup. Parents are encouraged to share their child’s development with their key adult verbally and on home observation sheets.
